US, allies down 28 Houthi drones in Red Sea attack
CENTCOM confirmed that no Navy or commercial ships were damaged in the attack. The late Friday night drone attack was the latest in a series conducted by Yemen's Houthis against commercial and naval vessels in the Red Sea since mid-November, which the group has said is a response to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza since Oct. 7.
5 children killed in humanitarian aid airdrop, Hamas-run Gaza Ministry of Health says
"We are aware of reports of civilians killed as a result of humanitarian airdrops. We express sympathies to the families of those who were killed. Contrary to some reports, this was not the result of U.S. airdrops," U.S. Central Command said in a statement Friday evening.
Washington has approved more than 100 separate military sales to Israel since its invasion of Gaza, amounting to thousands of precision-guided munitions, small diameter bombs, bunker busters, small arms and other lethal aid, even as officials complain Israeli leaders have not done enough to protect civilians.
